WOODYDACHERRY
Jeffray St-Onge-Brunet (woodydacherry) was on August 8th 2001 in Montréal, Canada from 2 young 21 year old parents & grew up in Lachine, Montréal. Drawing & paiting have been appart of his life since he could hold something in his hands.
During his early school years, he excelled in art classes. In highschool, woody dove head first into the world of skateboarding. Spending every day skating with friends. He would draw on griptapes with paintmarker then graduated to spray paint & walls. His first experience with drugs & sex, which are fundamental parts of his art,
all happend during those years.
Towards the end of highschool, he got heavily into making music. singing, rapping & producing. He slowly stopped focusing on visual arts for a moment.
During the 2020 pandemic, Woody started painting on canvases & wood boards for the first time in his life.
He hung out heavily with Friends from his hometown such as Tyler St-Onge-Brunet, Vincent Boily-Chatelain & Alexis Bourque.
In 2021, Woody & Vincent had their first exhibition in Mile-End, Montréal where they we're selling art & clothes. This is also where they connected with Tommy Verdier & Louka Tessier & more. They started hanging out together & decided to make a artbook all together which lead to the creation of the SHADOW WIZARD collective. Despite the succes of the local collective & its fast growing meme producer tag dawned by Louka, woody slowly fizzled out of the collective to focus on doing solo projects that he felt more attracted to.
Between 2021 & 2023, woody kept painting & rapidly discovered his own style of minimalism & controlled chaos.
He would paint many pop culture references along with abstract face which would later become the "LIL GUYS".
He started his BFA in September 2023 at Concordia University where a few of his teacher really made him understand his craft.
In October 2023, Woody had his first solo pop-up exhibition at Le Ninety in Montréal.
Between 2024-2025, woody got tired of not having a character he can use in any scenario. The abstract faces he used to make slowly turned into the "LIL GUYS" over time to the version we have today.
In May 2026, Woody was feature in his first show at an official art Gallery along side 3 other artists. 1215 Gallery in Montréal showed 3 of his paintings during the month of May.
